Everybody has made the mistake clicking the snooze button in the morning. They say they’ll sleep in for five more minutes, only to wake up half an hour later. We all need our sleep, and on some school nights we just can’t get enough of it, but we still have to get up in the morning. As breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you don’t want to skip it. Here are three quick breakfasts that will be perfect for when you are running late.

Oatmeal is a simple, yet tasty way to start of the day! Instant oatmeal takes a small amount of time to make, and is actually quite healthy for you. Taking about two to five minutes to make, you can have a delicious breakfast in no time. To give it more flavour, you can add some cut up fresh or frozen fruit to it. Also, it’s really easy to make, as you just have to add milk or water, to what you would like (I usually add ½ a cup or so) and put it in the microwave for about one minute!

Secondly there are morning wraps, which you can personalize to sweet or salty, depending on how you are feeling. To make it easier to put together cut everything you would want in it up the night before and put it in the fridge, that way when you put it together in the morning it takes minimal time! You could use a tortilla and put some strawberries and Nutella in it. If you were to cut everything in the morning, it would take about ten to fifteen minutes, but if you just put it together, it would take less than five minutes.

Lastly we have my personal favourite, smoothies! Smoothies are so simple, but can be so tasty and good for you. All you need to do is get some frozen or fresh fruit, cut it up, and put it in a bag with ice and whatever else (excluding yogurt or milk) you want in the smoothie, and leave it in the freeze. Then when you are running late and need something quick, you can just add the contents of one bag, then add milk or yogurt into a blender and voila you have a smoothie! One of my favorite things about smoothies is that they are easy to take on the go, which can help you have more time in the morning, and maybe make you less late than what you would be if you sat down and drank it. This will take you about five to ten minutes to make the bags before hand, but less than three minutes to blend the smoothie in the morning.

Hopefully these three healthy breakfasts will make it easier for you when you decide to hit snooze in the morning. If you follow these simple tips, you won’t ever have to skip breakfast again!
