In the 2-0 victory over Villareal, the final Saturday of the month, Manchester United fans flew a plane over the Santiago Bernabeu pleading with Ronaldo to go back to Manchester. The defending holder of the Ballon D’Or has been looking in great form for the last 7 or 8 years but as he reaches the end of his prime Los Galacticos may be willing to let him go, for the right price, perhaps returning to United and following the path of former Madrid teammate Angel di Maria.

Ronaldo, 29, started his career with Sporting Lisbon, in his homeland of Portugal and soon enough Ferguson’s Manchester United snatched him up. This was a team of legends with the likes of David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelroy, Gary Neville and many others who were household names. In the 5 years he spent there, he easily worked his way into the starting XI in a team of legends, before taking them to 2005 Premier League title. His first season however was not as memorable as he lacked performance, and United watched Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal stroll to first, going unbeaten in the process. However, he survived the extreme makeover the team went in the next season and become a regular starter before leading Manchester United to the title “Champions of Europe”.

Ronaldo became a living legend in his time at North Manchester

Since joining Real Madrid he has continuously led the world in scoring numbers, and won numerous awards to commemorate his talent, and led Real Madrid to many awards, the most important of which was in 2014, making him one of the few to take “Champions of Europe” with two different clubs. In the process he led Real Madrid to their tenth occasion defending European Championship. The legendary “La Decima”.

Ronaldo is one superstar player, who any team would be lucky to have. But the question still looms. Will he remain at the Santiago Bernabeu go home to Old Trafford or travel elsewhere? Where will Ronaldo go?
